Privacy Policy
BTLTracker (“we”, “the site”) is a research tool that maps UK buy-to-let activity from public records. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site and why.
What we collect
When you visit, we record basic usage data so we can understand how the site is used and improve it:
- Pages you view and actions you take (searches, properties, companies and areas viewed, portfolio valuations run)
- Your IP address
- Your browser and device type (user-agent)
- The site or link that referred you
- Date and time of each request
We do not ask for or store names, emails, accounts or payment details — there is no sign-up.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Aggregate traffic measurement is provided by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. No consent banner is therefore required.
Why we collect it (lawful basis)
We process this data under our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — namely understanding usage, maintaining security, and improving the service. It is first-party data used only by us.
How long we keep it
Usage records are automatically deleted after 90 days. Server access logs rotate and are deleted within 14 days.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your data. It stays on our own server. Our infrastructure providers (DigitalOcean for hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and traffic analytics) process requests on our behalf.
Data sources
Property and company information shown on the site comes from Companies House, HM Land Registry and Savills, used under their respective terms. Valuations and forecasts are estimates for research only and are not financial advice.
Your rights
You have the right to access or request deletion of data we hold about you. As we identify visitors only by IP address, please include the IP address(es) you used. Contact us at privacy@btltracker.io.
